Strategies to Help Teens Navigate the Ever-Changing Digital Landscape
Technology is an integral part of the lives of teenagers. It is not just limited to computers but includes smartphones, tablets, gaming consoles, and various social media platforms. Each of these platforms holds unique attractions and challenges for teenagers such as cyberbullying, on-line harassment, sexting, sextortion, and pornography which can influence and affect a young person’s mental health and relationships. Digital abuse can include unwanted, repeated calls or text messages, false identities (catfishing), or being pressured to send private or embarrassing pictures or videos. This session aims to foster open communication and encourage critical thinking to help teens safely navigate the digital landscape with confidence.
