Implementing the Lethality Assessment Protocol (LAP) in coordination with Law Enforcement Agencies

Safehouse Progressive Alliance for Nonviolence (SPAN) strives to provide Accessible, trauma-informed, culturally appropriate response to all Crisis Calls. During 2022 Law Enforcements Agencies in Boulder County launch a program to implement a two-pronged intervention process that makes use of a specialized lethality assessment instrument and an accompanying protocol. This workshop will primarily focus on how community partnerships and collaboration are critical when responding to Domestic violence scene, and police officers assess a victim’s risk for serious injury or death using the Lethality Assessment Screen. We will highlight SPAN’s approach on how advocates respond to those calls, and how to engage the victim with services and resources within the ACRTI framework.
