Impacts of Rising Rent and Increased Housing Barriers on Domestic Violence: Sustainable Solutions for Client Stabilization
Safehouse Progressive Alliance for Nonviolence (SPAN) strives to provide resources for clients and their families to stabilize after experiencing domestic violence. This workshop will primarily focus on how rising rent costs in cities, with a focus on Boulder, CO and the Denver Metro Area, not only adds additional barriers to client stabilization but also raises the risk of domestic violence and prevents clients from being able to safely leave a dangerous home situation, particularly if they experience identity-based marginalization or are single parents. This workshop will primarily focus on creative solutions to addressing rent crises and case studies on various strategies implemented to keep survivors of DV safer.
