Equity at the Center: Addressing root causes of human trafficking in Colorado

Systemic inequalities including racial discrimination and economic disparities create environments where certain communities are more vulnerable to exploitation. People of color face higher levels of poverty and limited access to economic opportunities as well as discrimination in employment, housing and policing. Addressing root causes of trafficking involves collaborative efforts to combat systemic inequalities, improve economic opportunities, and provide culturally competent support services. This session is based on new data and research and will supplement sessions from previous CAIA conference presentations in 2021 and 2022.
