Engaging Macro-Social Perspectives to Enhance Advocacy Practices

Many people across our society regard sexual violence and domestic abuse as private problems between individuals, overlooking social conditions which set the stage for these harms to occur. This misunderstanding prevents many communities from effectively mobilizing to confront these forms of violence as a collective. This presentation draws connections between current social conditions and the historical forces that have shaped them, along with key concepts and vocabulary for applying this knowledge to advocacy work.
