Jimel was born in Jamaica and raised in Illinois. Upon high school graduation he attended Gallaudet University and graduated with a B.S in Physical Education in 2017. Since entering college, Jimel has been involved with community awareness and advocacy regarding sexual violence, healthy relationships, working with men/boys and has collaborated with various organizations such as MCSR (Men Can Stop Rape) and DeafDAWN (both located in DC). After Graduating college, Jimel moved to Seattle in 2018 to work as the Community Outreach and Prevention Coordinator at Abused Deaf Women’s Advocacy Services (ADWAS). Currently, Jimel is pursuing his Masters in Social work.
