Darlene was born and raised in the Colorado Mountains and is a self-proclaimed mountain woman enjoying all aspects of the outdoors and mountains. Alongside Asha (Shih-Poo Therapy dog), Darlene helps promote healing and change in thinking in a holistic approach integrating mind, body, and spirit. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Addictions Counselor, Acudetoxification Specialist, Certified Sex Addiction Therapist Candidate. Registered Yoga Teacher 200hr, Zumba Instructor and a lover of art, music, animals and mindfulness. Darlene has an extensive background and understanding in intimate partner violence, sexual assault, childhood trauma, sexual health, LGBTIQ issues, mental health, play therapy and recreational therapy. Darlene uses animal-assisted interventions, mindfulness, DBT skills, EMDR, non-violent communication skills, body movement, compassion, authenticity and honesty as tools to help support the recovery process.
