Monica Bies

Monica Bies, Interim Director at University of Colorado’s Center on Domestic Violence, is an independently licensed social work professional who has worked for over 25 years in the non-profit sector partnering with K-12 schools. She developed her expertise in in best-practices in prevention and intervention in school-based mental health. Her work included affecting change on the whole school level by leading trauma-sensitive school initiatives, consulting to school administrators about structures to support the social and emotional health of students, and supervising clinical staff to various programs providing a range of direct services. As a social worker and social justice advocate, Monica is committed to working at multiple levels to ensure inclusivity and accessibility of competent services to a diverse community of youth and families.
