Kimmie Andresen-Reed

Kimmie has worked in anti-violence organizations responding to and working to prevent sexual violence for nearly 8 years. She comes from a background of working with queer and trans survivors of sexual violence in particular, and loves being with people. For her, holding space for people is a simple and transformative thing at the same time, it’s something we all need but often don’t receive. Over the years, Kimmie has leaned further into art and creative practices as a way of healing and surviving She also values community and authentic relationship as a place where healing happens. Kimmie is often heard quoting Adrienne Maree Brown, and in particular likes “What you pay attention to grows.” She values conversation, change that is sustainable, and process over perfection. Currently Kimmie works at the Rape Victim Advocacy Program as an Assistant Director.
