Madisson Bednark

Madisson is the Development Director at The Initiative and is responsible for outreach, social media, marketing, and communications. Madisson received her BS in human nutrition and dietetics from MSU Denver and is also a certified lactation consultant. She founded and produced Driven Kitchen, an online platform that provides people with free access to nutrition education that is centered on helping them manage chronic illness through healthy food. Madisson has experienced hidden disability for last decade living with Lyme disease, pancreatitis, alpha 1 antitrypsin deficiency, and immune disorders. Madisson is a survivor of sexual assault and has become an activist within the Denver community. In 2017, The Initiative recruited Madisson to be on their board of directors but found that her personal vision and mission were in such alignment with the organization’s that they hired her as their Development Director. Experiencing disability and being a sexual assault survivor has given her insight into the needs of those communities, and she wants to facilitate impact by cultivating awareness and providing education.
