Angel has worked in the criminal justice system for 18 years. She began her career with the Colorado Judicial Branch in the 1st Judicial District, Jefferson County Colorado, where she worked with and supervised adult sex offenders on probation for eight years. In 1997, she moved to the State Court Administrator’s Office where she led a statewide court improvement project for two years, conducted a two-year research project related to the systemic response to technical violations of sex offenders on probation and in 2010, took over management of the statewide sex offender and economic crime programs. As the statewide expert on probation sex offender policies, Angel provides guidance and direction for all 22 of probation’s statewide sex offender programs, she leads efforts at changing and implementing policies regarding the supervision of sex offenders, she conducts extensive training related to sex offender management and she presents on relevant sex offender topics at national conferences. She is an active member of the Colorado Sex Offender Management Board where she advocates for policies and practices that support the latest research-based strategies for effective sex offender management and supervision. Angel holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice Administration/Management.
